Notes: This 1965 Guild Starfire V is a classic American-made semi-hollow finished in its iconic Cherry Red, offering the warm, open voice and vintage character that have made these guitars a favorite for generations. This guitar was owned by Lon Cohen Rental Studios in L.A. for 30 plus years who is one of the largest rental and backline companies. This guitar has been likely been on many records and live recording. The guitar weighs in at a comfortable 8lbs and featuring a comfortable C-shaped mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, it delivers an effortless playing experience while the original Guild humbuckers produce rich, articulate tones with plenty of vintage warmth and clarity. This example is in very good condition and shows honest cosmetic wear consistent with over 60 years of use. The body displays numerous dings, scratches, and finish marks throughout, with noticeable buckle rash on the back, while the neck has several scratches and small indentations from years of playing. The top also exhibits a variety of finish wear and handling marks that add to its vintage appeal. None of the cosmetic wear detracts from its playability or classic Guild sound, making this an outstanding player's vintage instrument with the unmistakable character that only decades of use can create. The guitar comes complete with a hardshell case and is ready for its next chapter on stage or in the studio.
